Cut six out of double buckram.
Used a zig zag stitch on an industrial machine. Than sewed as high as I could, than whip stitched up to the point of the hat.

Used a blanket Stitch to sew the wire to the bottom.

Covered the double buckram base with fabric. Once constructed used a blanket stitch on outside.

Cut parts of fabric, sewed the parts of fabric to look like a turban.

Adding more fabric to look like turban.

Using industrial felt, I cut several pieces in the desired shape, butting the pieces together, stitched them together with a zig zag stitch.

Putting ends together, created the cone shape.

Added wire to the bottom using a blanket stitch.

Putting pieces together, I created this pattern So there is one full seam, and several smaller seams.

Covered the industrial felt with fabric, hand basted the bottoms of the fabric and industrial felt together.



Covered foam piping with batting to get the desired thickness for the band of the hat.

After sewing the band to the base, added fabric at the back, lined the inside and

Tip of Hat, before cut out of dubble bukrum.

Crown of hat, dubble buckrum.

Sewed Tip to crown, wired around top and bottom edge. Sewed bias tape to bottom edge to cover wire.

Covered tip of hat with fabric.


Covered crown of hat with fabric. Covered foam tubbing with fabric and attached it to tip of hat.
Added lace fabric at two points on the back of the tip of hat.

Took a Fez felt hat and cut it short. Draped fabric over to find where to put darts.
Sewed darts, wraped excess fabric under, lined the inside.
After, wrapped the turban around the base.
